Temple defeats Loyola Maryland

All four Regional Round hosts head to Brooklyn with unblemished Legends Classic records

Four Owls scored in double figures as Temple led from start to finish in taking an 81-67 decision from Loyola Maryland in the Got.Print.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper.

Shizz Alston Jr. led all scorers with 18 points. Nate Pierre-Louis and Quinton Rose (pictured) had 16 each with Rose also accumulating six rebounds and assists. Ernest Aflakpui tallied 10 points.

The Greyhounds received 17 points and 12 rebounds from Brent Holcombe. Andrew Kostecka netted 14 points, Kenny Jones had 11 points and Chuck Champion added 10 points.

Temple will join St. John’s, VCU, and California in Brooklyn to participate in the Championship Rounds of the GotPrint.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper. The Red Storm will meet the Bears while the Owls take on the Rams, their former Atlantic 10 foe, in the semifinal round on Monday at Barclays Center. The consolation and championship games will then be played on Tuesday.

Loyola heads to Detroit Mercy for the Subregional Round where it will open with the host Titans while Bowling Green and Hampton square off in the other game on Monday.
