Notre Dame to face Northwestern in Legends Classic championship

Notre Dame and Northwestern will meet for the title of the 10th annual Legends Classic at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Notre Dame led by as many as 18 points before having to fend off Colorado, 89-83, in the first semifinal of the day. The Irish led 48-30 with a little over one and a half minutes to play in the first half and took a 50-35 lead into intermission. Colorado came back and cut the deficit to four points, 85-81, with over a minute to go but Notre Dame scored the next four points, two on foul shots made by Steve Vasturia and two more foul shots by Bonzie Colson to solidify the lead.
Colson ended the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Matt Farrell had 20 points and six assists. V.J. Beachem scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds and Vasturia ended the game with 17 points.
Colorado received 23 points and seven rebounds from Xavier Johnson. Derrick White had 20 points and nine assists and George King posted 17 points and 13 rebounds.
In the nightcap, Northwestern came out of the gate early, building an 8-0 lead and never trailed by more than one point in downing No. 22 Texas, 77-58.
Leading 34-26 at halftime, Northwestern exploded for 25 of the next 39 points to take a 59-40 lead with nine-plus minutes to play.
Bryant McIntosh led the Wildcats with 20 points with Scottie Lindsey netting 16. Derek Pardon and Isiah Brown had 10 points each with Pardon also hauling down 11 rebounds.
Tevin Mack paced the Longhorns with 18 points.
Notre Dame and Northwestern will tip off at 6:00pm for the Legends Classic championship on ESPN2. The game will preceded by Texas and Colorado at 3:30pm on ESPNU.
In the Legends Classic Subregional, host Eastern Washington will take on Seattle for the title on Tuesday
Eastern Washington got a career-high 32 points from Bogdan Bliznyuk and 18 points from Jacob Wiley in downing Bryant, 81-77. Bryant was led by Nisre Zouzoua and Adam Grant who had 22 and 20 points, respectively.
Seattle advanced with an 81-75 overtime victory against ULM. Aaron Menzies tallied a career-best 35 points along 11 rebounds and William Powell had a career-high 22 points along with 10 rebounds to pace the Redhawks. Travis Munnings had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead ULM.
ULM and Bryant will begin the day at 6:35pm (ET), followed by EWU-Seattle in the title tilt at 9:05pm (ET).
