Michigan and Arizona State to face off in championship game

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Arizona State posted the largest margin of victory ever in a Vivid Seats Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper championship game in its 87-62 win over No. 20 Michigan at Barclays Center.

Desmond Cambridge Jr. scored 20 points to lead the Sun Devils and earn tournament MVP honors. DJ Horne netted 19 points and Austin Nunez scored 15 points to join Cambridge on the all-tournament team.

Arizona State never trailed and took a 46-28 lead into halftime. The Sun Devils shot 18-of-32 from the field and 8-of-14 from three in the half while holding the Wolverines to just 9-of-30 from the floor and 2-of-9 from three.

The second half featured much the same as Arizona State extended it lead to as many as 32 before closing with an 87-62 win.

Hunter Dickinson scored 14 points. Jett Howard added 12 to earn all-tournament honors.

In the consolation game, VCU and Pitt went back and forth before VCU scored a 71-67 win.

Brandon Johns, Jr. had 18 points and seven rebounds to earn all-tournament honors. Zeb Jackson had 16 points and six rebounds for the Rams.

Pitt was led by the 18-point effort of Blake Hinson. Jamrius Burton scored 14 points and Nelly Cummings tallied 11.
