FanDuel Legends Classic: Day 3

It was an eventful Day 3 in the FanDuel Legends Classic.
In Baton Rouge, Ben Simmons posted team highs of 22 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals to lead No. 23/19 LSU to a 91-69 win over Kennesaw State.
LSU shot 50.8 percent from the field, including Simmons’ 11-of-17 effort. Josh Gray saw his first action of the young season and added 16 points, six assists, and six rebounds in 22 minutes. Freshman Antonio Blakeney tallied 14 points and Aaron Epps added 10 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes.
The Tigers used a 28-4 run late in the first half to increase a 16-15 lead to 24 with less than a minute to play before halftime.
Kennesaw State’s Kendrick Ray scored a game-high 25 points. Three days after scoring 34 at Alabama, Owls guard Yonel Brown was held to 4-of-14 shooting and 11 points in 34 minutes.
In Milwaukee, Marquette earned a 75-71 overtime victory over IUPUI.
Henry Ellenson led the Golden Eagles with 18 points while Luke Fischer had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Duane Wilson posted 16 points and seven rebounds and Sandy Cohen III had 11 points.
Marquette won the game at the foul line, going 24-of-29 while IUPUI was 10-of-10.
IUPUI was led by Darell Combs with 21 points and seven rebounds. Nick Osborne had 14 points, Mason Archie had 11 points, and Matt O’Leary netted 10 points.
In Tempe, Arizona State won its first game under Bobby Hurley in earning an 83-74 win over Belmont.
Gerry Blakes led the Sun Devils and all scorers with 22 points to go with eight rebounds. Andre Spight had 15 points and six assists, Savon Goodman posted 13 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and Kodi Justice had 13 points.
Belmont, which opened the FanDuel Legends Classic with a win at Marquette, was led by Austin Luke and his 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Craig Bradshaw tallied 12 points, and Evan Bradds added 11 points.
The FanDuel Legends Classic resume Wednesday when NC State hosts IUPUI (7:00pm ET, ESPN3) and Arizona State hosts Kennesaw State (8:30pm ET, Pac-12 Network).
